Protracker rolls out Form ADV Part 2 software

Microsoft Word file meant to assist advisers in meeting required SEC revision

Advisers can now generate their new Form ADV Part 2, known as the “narrative” version, with the click of a button — if they buy the Microsoft Word template available from Protracker Software Inc. that is.

The direct price of the Narrative Form ADV Part 2 Template is $99.

While I haven't yet completed an exhaustive search, a cursory one finds this to be the first marketed example I've heard about of a quick fix for advisers that want to meet the new regulations issued by the SEC that go into effect March 31, 2011.

Others are sure to follow.

According to the company's online marketing page: “The ProTracker Narrative Form ADV Part 2 Template is designed to rapidly facilitate the conversion of your firm's Form ADV Part II, to the new narrative Form ADV Part 2, also known as a "Firm Brochure." The Template also includes the "Firm Brochure Supplement" (Form ADV Part 2B).”

Using the template within Microsoft Word is supposed to allow firms to more quickly transfer their current ADV Part II information into the new format and generate the required table of contents.
