Tortoise Capital Advisors LLC of Leawood, Kan., has promoted Brad Adams, 52, to managing director, from director of financial operations.

He is responsible for overseeing Tortoise's financial operations team and will be chief financial officer for Tortoise's closed-end funds.

Securities America Inc. of La Vista, Neb., has promoted four officers to senior-level positions.

Jim Heeney, 41, is chief operating officer, responsible for sales supervision, operations and product due diligence. He is also in charge of implementing strategies, processes and systems to supervise the sales activity of Securities America's registered representatives and investment advisers.

Previously, Mr. Heeney was senior vice president, a position he will continue to hold.

Paul Lofties, 39, is senior vice president of production distribution and wealth management, and is a member of the executive leadership team, responsible for managing the wealth management and product distribution departments. Previously, he was vice president of wealth management.

David Vaughan Jr., 40, is first president of finance and a member of the executive leadership team, responsible for financial reporting, forecasting, planning, treasury and cash management. Previously, he was vice president of finance.

Craig Zimmerman, 43, is first vice president of operations, resp-onsible for the daily support and work flow for all operations department functions: account processing, maintenance, cashiering and fees, brokerage services and trading. Previously, he was vice president.

LPL Financial LLC of Boston has hired Donie Lochan, 47, as executive vice president of business technology services.

Based in San Diego, he will provide stewardship over the BTS portfolio and he will be leading BTS risk management, audit compliance, business continuity and disaster recovery planning, and information security.

Previously, Mr. Lochan was regional leader of the Asia Pacific information technology services unit at Bain and Co. of Boston.

Franklin Square Capital Partners of Philadelphia has hired Kristine Westley, 47, as senior vice president of fund operations.

Based in Orlando, Fla., she will oversee all fund operations and assist in the development of new products and sales channels.

Previously, Ms. Westley was vice president of operations at CNL Financial Group Inc. of Orlando.

Hartford (Conn.) Mutual Funds, distributed by Hartford Investment Financial Services LLC, has hired Gregory Frost, 42, as chief financial officer.

He will provide financial perspective and analysis for key initiatives aimed at improving the company's business performance.

Previously, Mr. Frost was chief financial officer at Janus Capital Group Inc. of Denver.

Devon Financial Partners LLC of Wayne, Pa., has hired Chris McKee, 58, as sales manager.

He will be responsible for production management and recruiting.

Previously, Mr. McKee was a managing partner at MassMutual Financial Group of Springfield, Mass.

TIG Advisors LLC of New York has hired Kenneth Goodreau, 40, as chief investment officer to develop and manage various aspects of TIG's investment platform, including creating multimanager solutions for institutional investors, sourcing portfolio management talent and providing thematic investment research.

Previously, he was chief investment officer at the Office of the General Treasurer of Rhode Island.
