Nationwide Financial Inc. veteran Larry Hilsheimer abruptly announced his departure today as head of the insurer's retirement plan business.
John Carter, previously president of Nationwide's sales arm, NFS Distributors Inc., will be stepping in.
Mr. Hilsheimer was relatively new to the job, holding the post for only seven months before leaving to “pursue other interests,” according to the carrier.
Neither Mr. Hilsheimer nor Mr. Carter was available for comment. Spokesman Dace de la Foret said there was no information on Mr. Hilsheimer's last day at the firm.
