Captrust acquires $300-million Utah hybrid

Knox Capital Group has six advisers, 12 employees

Captrust Financial Advisors has acquired Knox Capital Group, a hybrid firm based in Salt Lake City, Utah, managing more than $300 million in assets. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Knox Capital was founded in 2003 and is led by partners Brodie Barnes and Stanley Kimball. The firm, which has 12 employees, including six financial advisers, now will operate under the Captrust brand.

Captrust, based in Raleigh, N.C., advises on $248 billion in assets.
