Toy story: Looking to revive the slumping G.I. Joe line in the Nineties, Hasbro designed The Manimals. While the figures were able to transform, one of them, Vortez, failed several child safety tests. Hasbro scrapped the whole idea — but not before a few Manimals made it onto store shelves.
