TV's most memorable HNW characters
4. Gomez Addams
The head of the creepy, kooky and altogether ooky Addams clan, Gomez Addams is perhaps the most eccentric television character ever. He is also one of the wealthiest. Played brilliantly by John Astin, Gomez is a shrewd investor, likely a necessity given that he blows up at least one model train set a day. The Addams portfolio includes investments in a buzzard farm, a tombstone factory and, fabulously, a uranium mine. Gomez also bought real estate, including some swamp land that he referred to as 'scenic property.' His enthusiasm for stock picking picked up when he discovered that 'you can make a killing in the market.' Oh yes, the hauntingly beautiful Caroline Jones was on board as Morticia to help Gomez manage the family finances. 'The Addams Family' originally aired from 1962 to 1964, a short run that produced only 64 episodes, proving conclusively there's no accounting for taste.
