Wall Street's most embarrassing emails
4. Hugs and kisses to Main Street
Wall Streeters went into hiding after the financial crisis struck in 2008. At the time, investment bankers and brokers of all stripes found themselves on the end of an unrelenting drubbing, and many of Wall Street's elite admitted that the kill-or-be-killed attitude of the Street had to change. Less than two years later, the humility had vanished. Indeed, a screed from an anonymous trader that circulated among firms in 2010 showed that Wall Street was back to its ugly, self-aggrandizing best.
'Go ahead and continue to take us down, but you're only going to hurt yourselves. What's going to happen when we can't find jobs on the Street anymore? Guess what: We're going to take yours. We get up at 5am & work till 10pm or later. We're used to not getting up to pee when we have a position. We aren't dinosaurs. We are smarter and more vicious than that, and we are going to survive.'
