Berkshire has 22,999,600 shares of DIRECTV, which gives the company a 3.8% ownership in the cable provider.
Note: Buffett notes that in the past annual reports for Berkshire, every stock itemized has been bought by him or the decision to buy it was his. DIRECTV is the first investment made by new investment managers Todd Combs and Ted Weshcler. Their combined holdings at the end of 2012 were valued at $1.15 billion.
