15 best paying cities for financial advisers
The country's 15 best paying big cities
Using the newly renovated National Adviser Compensation Database benchmarking tool, which has been updated to include the US Bureau of Labor Statistics' geographic market multiplier*, we’ve ranked 15 of the country’s biggest cities by median total compensation for lead advisers. Also included is each city’s median base salary and incentive pay for a lead adviser, along with the city’s population. All lead adviser compensation data comes via the 2013 InvestmentNews/Moss Adams Compensation & Staffing Study, and is also accessible via the National Adviser Compensation Database. Click through to see how the United States’ biggest cities stack up for lead adviser pay.

*The BLS geographic market multiplier is a national benchmark based on an analysis of compensation, jobs and cost-of-living data from the U.S. Census Bureau. That benchmark is then applied to the compensation data results from the 2013 InvestmentNews/Moss Adams Compensation & Staffing Study to adjust advisory firm salaries for the most populous geographic markets in the U.S.
