Entry-level adviser pay vs. other professions
How does compensation at the very beginning of an adviser’s career stack up to other professions? Compensation figures can be sky-high for seasoned advisers, but their initial earnings may have paled in comparison. Does entry-level adviser compensation come up short compared to skill-centric careers like attorneys, accountants, engineers and programmers? And how do the salary comparisons change as employees in each role gain more work experience? To find out, we used data from the InvestmentNews/Moss Adams 2013 Compensation & Staffing Study, which collected compensation information from over 400 firms for over 2,000 positions. That’s compared to data gathered from Salary.com for these four other careers, so advisers can see how compensation measures up when entering the workforce.
