Darren McFadden v. Ameriprise
Football star Darren McFadden filed a lawsuit against Ameriprise Financial Inc. in May after discovering his financial adviser had stolen or lost at least $15 million of the athlete's money.
The running back for the Dallas Cowboys claims Ameriprise failed to notify him upon launching an internal investigation of the adviser, Michael Vick, or when it subsequently suspended Mr. Vick 10 months later.
Mr. McFadden had previously signed a six-year, $60 million rookie contract with the Oakland Raiders and Mr. McFadden hired the adviser, a former friend, to manage his finances.
The dispute is now headed to arbitration.
