Moving expenses for first job
Deducting job-hunting expenses while looking for a first job is a no-no. But taxpayers can deduct moving expenses to get to that first job. And it’s deductible even if the taxpayer takes the standard deduction.
What’s more, if it’s a move of 50 miles or more, the IRS allows a 23 cents-a-mile deduction, plus parking fees and tolls, for driving oneself and household goods to the new job locale.
