Congress to approve multi-employer retirement plan
Congress will pass legislation promoting the adoption of “open” multiple employer plans, which allows small employers to pool company retirement assets into one defined contribution plan. The industry has long advocated for them as a way to boost retirement-plan coverage for employees of small businesses and reduce plan costs. However, the legislation won’t close the coverage gap to any significant degree.
