In 2008, the 104 independent broker-dealers surveyed this year were allowed to list more than one clearing firm. Market share is based on 127 clearing firms specified. In 2009, the 91 independent broker-dealers surveyed this year were allowed to list more than one clearing firm. Market share is based on 119 clearing firms specified. In 2010, the 102 independent broker-dealers surveyed this year were allowed to list more than one clearing firm. Market share is based on 142 clearing firms specified. In 2011, the 105 independent broker-dealer surveyed this year were allowed to list more than one clearing firm. Market share is based on 139 clearing firms specified.
