More older women in America are working longer than ever before. Since the recession, the number of gainfully employed females past the age of 55 surpassed one-third of their age group and it hasn’t let up, with a record 33.9% working last month. A recent AARP study found that Americans are split on why they continue to work — some do so out of economic necessity and others to remain active.
