Janney acquires FIG Partners of Atlanta

Acquisition adds strength in community bank deals.

Janney Montgomery Scott is acquiring FIG Partners, an Atlanta-based investment banking and research firm that specializes in community banks.

The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter.

Janney, which is based in Philadelphia, said that FIG’s current executive team will assume new leadership roles at Janney, which is active in investment banking for commercial banks and other financial institutions.

Terms of the acquisition were not announced.
