Roy Janse, DeHollander & Janse
Now a partner at an advisory firm in Greenville, S.C., Roy Janse competed for Canada in the two-person catamaran event in the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.
His advice: "As an Olympian you have spent thousands of hours preparing for your event. Don’t forget to take a minute or two to enjoy it. It will be done before you know it, but if you take the time to make those memories they will stay with you for the rest of your life and help inspire your future successes."
On the competition: "They say that success is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. Since you are at the Olympics, I am assuming you have done the 99% perspiration part as have the rest of your competitors. Now is the time to reignite that 1% inspiration so you can climb to the very top."
