UBS recruits $1.6B team of eight from Merrill Lynch

The ultra-high-net-worth-focused team joins UBS in Northbrook, Illinois.

UBS Private Wealth Management has recruited a team of advisors with a significant track record having previously managed approximately $1.6 billion in client assets at Merrill Lynch.

Hammond Fay Bush & Associates is based in Northbrook, Illinois, and is led by financial advisors Jack Hammond, Susan Bush and Brian Fay. The team also includes Jonelle Do, Chris Stevens, Kristina Jucaban, Donna Mijatovic, Maria Cintron.

Hammond joins UBS as a private wealth advisor while Bush and Fay join as financial advisors, with a combined seven decades of industry experience, and a strong focus on high-net-worth individuals and families and helping them navigate complex financial decisions including multigenerational legacy planning.

“The team’s industry experience and dedication to clients will be a great addition to our business as we look to continue to expand our ultra-high-net-worth client offering in this key market,” commented Michael Gatewood, Chicago market executive at UBS Private Wealth Management.

The Hammond Brook Fay team is not the first from Merrill Lynch to jump to UBS so far this year. A $2 billion team in New York City – GKB & Associates – joined the firm early January.

Andrew Dempsey, market director, added that the firm is continuing to focus on recruiting the most talented advisors in the industry and is in no doubt that it has what it takes to attract them.

“We believe we have the strongest platform for financial advisors in the Americas, and with our suite of high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth capabilities, advisors like Jack, Susan and Brian will be able to deliver the full power of UBS to their clients.”
