iCapital, the global fintech platform with a focus on alternative investments, has announced a key partnership with Apollo to help enhance advisors' access and awareness of alternatives.
Under the partnership announced Monday, the two firms have launched Apollo Allocation Pro, a portfolio construction tool designed to help financial advisors integrate alternative investments, particularly private markets, into client portfolios.
The tool – enabled by a newly unveiled white-label capability to iCapital’s portfolio construction platform, iCapital Architect – is available on Apollo Global Management's website.
“With Apollo Allocation Pro, we’re continuing to educate and empower financial advisors as they seek greater diversification and excess return on behalf of their clients,” Stephanie Drescher, partner and chief client and product development officer at Apollo, said in a statement Monday.
Apollo Allocation Pro builds on Apollo Academy, the firm’s platform to help educate financial advisors on alternative investments, which launched in 2022. The firm said the new tool is designed to provide an interactive experience for exploring portfolio strategies that incorporate private market investments.
iCapital also revealed other updates to its iCapital Architect platform on Monday, including a portfolio allocator capability to help advisors construct portfolios based on specific client objectives and constraints, as well as a new proposal generation and sharing tool.
The wealth tech giant said it has also integrated iCapital Architect with its Multi-Investment Workflow tool, which enables multiple alternative investments to be processed simultaneously.
“Since launch, we’ve seen how powerful iCapital Architect is for advisors on our platform, regardless of where they are in the lifecycle of adopting alternative investments into client portfolios,” Lawrence Calcano, chairman and CEO of iCapital, said in a separate release.
In a recent global survey of advisors conducted by Hamilton Lane, nearly half of respondents in the Americas said their clients are "very interested" in getting exposure to private market investments. Other findings from the study suggest infrastructure is turning the most heads as it offers stable cash flows and diversification, among other benefits.
