iCapital, a global fintech platform focused on alternative investments, has unveiled its new Multi-Investment Workflow tool. Designed for wealth managers using the iCapital Marketplace, the tool simplifies the process of incorporating multiple alternative investments into client portfolios by allowing financial advisors to manage several investments within a single workflow.
Steve Houston, managing director and co-head of iCapital Solutions, highlighted the firm's continued commitment to expanding its platform.
“We continue to evolve our technology suite so financial advisors can unlock the true potential of alternative investments–enhancing diversification, mitigating risk, and optimizing returns–for client portfolios,” he said in a statement.
Part of iCapital’s broader effort to streamline the investment process for financial advisors, the tool's features include unified trade orders, automated processes, e-signature integration, and consolidated client communications. By reducing the complexity often associated with alternative investments, it aims to make portfolio construction more efficient for wealth managers.
The firm said its Multi-Investment Workflow can be used in conjunction with iits model portfolios, which it launched in May. With that capability, advisors can analyze potential allocations using the platform’s Architect tool, which provides insights into how alternative investments can complement traditional holdings. iCapital’s Model Portfolios are built from quantitative analysis conducted by the company's research and due diligence team of more than 25 professionals, who review a range of funds to develop models that align with client goals for growth, income, and diversification.
“As financial advisors and wealth management firms increasingly look to technology-driven solutions to achieve their clients’ long-term investment goals, we are committed to providing them with a distinctly elevated user experience,” the company noted.
iCapital announced its new feature shortly after revealing it had surpassed $200 billion in global platform assets, up from $100 billion as of December 2021, driven by increased client demand for high-quality private market funds. Over the same time, the firm says the number of funds on its platform grew more than 77 percent, to now include 1,630 funds from over 600 asset managers.
“There is an ongoing shift in the role of public versus private markets in supporting growing, profitable companies," said Marco Bizzozero, head of International at iCapital. "It’s increasingly important for private investors around the world to have the opportunity to access private markets so they can benefit from the value creation, which is nowadays increasingly happening outside of the public markets because companies are remaining private longer,”
