Jennifer Marcontell, whose eight-person team managed $1.7 billion at Edward Jones in Baytown, Texas, has broken away and affiliated with the independent channel of Ameriprise Financial.

Marcontell had been with Edward Jones for 22 years.

Going forward, she and her team will operate as Marcontell Wealth Management.

The firm works with roughly 450 families who on average have assets of more than $4 million. Many clients are in the energy and chemical industry.
