Robert W. Baird & Co. Inc. has snagged Paula Johnson, an industry veteran most recently with rival Wachovia Securities LLC of St. Louis, to lead a fledgling branch office. Baird said Wednesday it had hired her to manage its downtown San Francisco branch, which has yet to open. Ms. Johnson officially joined Baird on Jan. 6, according to records with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Inc. of Washington and New York. Baird, which is based in Milwaukee, said in a statement that it plans to open additional wealth management offices in Northern California.
