PowerShares tops $10 billion

PowerShares Capital Management LLC said its assets recently have surpassed the $10 billion mark, up from $8.5 million at the close of 2006.

PowerShares Capital Management LLC said its assets recently have surpassed the $10 billion mark, up from $8.5 million at the close of 2006. Furthermore, Wheaton, Ill.-based company said its Deutsche Bank portfolios along with the PowerShares QQQ and BLDRS bring total franchise assets to approximately $29 billion. Powershares has partnered with Deutsche Bank on 11 commodity and currency focused ETFs. The Powershares DB partnership now manages more than $1.5 billion in assets under management, the company said. PowerShares became the sponsor of the PowerShares QQQ in March, formerly known as the NASDAQ-100 Index Tracking Stock, and the 4 BLDRS Index Funds Trust with combined assets of $17.25 billion. Powershares is a subsidiary of London-based AMVESCAP PLC.
