AssetMark, the leading wealth tech platform with $127 billion in assets, is ready to push deeper into the financial planning space with a new leader to spearhead its efforts.

On Tuesday, the firm officially announced Erin Wood as its new senior vice president of advanced planning, which will see her lead the firm’s efforts to elevate its planning offerings for financial advisors.

Wood will focus on estate planning, tax efficiency, retirement planning, and multi-generational wealth transfer strategies to support a broad spectrum of investors.

She brings over 20 years of experience in financial planning, including her most recent stint as  senior vice president of financial planning and advanced solutions at Carson Group – which is currently dealing with a number of other departures from its executive ranks – and as a senior leader at First National Bank of Omaha.

Over the course of her career, Wood developed and scaled advanced planning capabilities, helping advisors implement comprehensive financial strategies for their clients.

"Erin brings unparalleled expertise and a deep commitment to empowering advisors to succeed in an increasingly complex financial planning landscape," David McNatt, executive vice president of investment solutions at AssetMark, said in a statement Tuesday. "Her track record of innovation and leadership makes her the ideal person to build and lead AssetMark’s advanced planning services."

Wood’s appointment comes as demand grows for integrated financial planning solutions that address the needs of high-net-worth individuals and families. AssetMark has made baby steps towards that direction this year, launching a suite of tax management services in January and unveiling a cash solutions offering in August.

In her new role, Wood will play to her strengths as she drives the vision for the fintech platform's advanced planning services, establishes key partnerships, and serves as an industry thought leader.

"I am thrilled to join AssetMark and lead the charge in delivering best-in-class advanced planning services to our advisors and their clients," she said. "Financial planning is about empowering individuals and families to achieve their goals, and I look forward to building solutions that make a meaningful impact on their lives."
