Redtail and goalgamiPro make a data connection

Advisor Software Inc. provides latest example in the continuous march of independent and useful third-party tech integrations
JUN 18, 2013
It really is a good time, from a technology perspective, to be getting into the financial advice business. There have never been so many tools available to advisers and the pace of integrations between third-party providers continues to chug along. The latest example, and one that might end up being a good fit for a large number of advisers, at least those that do financial planning, is the integration of goalgamiPro with the popular customer relationship management application from Redtail Technologies. Advisor Software Inc.'s quick planning application is now directly integrated with Redtail CRM. This new connectivity allows advisers that are using both to easily start producing Household Balance Sheet reports for their clients. Basically there are two levels of integration here. The first is a single sign-on with Redtail that allows an adviser to launch goalgami directly from within Redtail. Beyond that, there is an integration of client data such that updated client account and holdings data from Redtail can flow into goalgamiPro without any manual entry. For those unfamiliar with it goalgamiPro is an offshoot of goalgami, which was launched in 2010 and allows consumers to more easily visualize their financial goals and assist in the planning process. These new features add to the abilities of the application. Last year ASI rolled out Collaboration Connect, which allows advisers to turn on a password-protected website for their clients, on a household basis, to access and edit their plan goals and share details with them. Advisor Software also launched an iPad app intended for consumers in 2011 called goalGetter as well. In building that application the firm followed the "drag and drop" approach it had used for building the goalgami website. In it, users move around “goal” icons to help forge a plan. That ease of use sets goalGetter apart from some other planning applications, which, then as now, rely a whole lot on manual data entry.
