The Blackstone Group LP plans to sell bonds for the first time, but offered no details on how much or when. Late Wednesday, the private equity firm said it intends to offer senior notes of an indirect subsidiary called Blackstone Holdings Finance Co. to institutional buyers. The bonds, the first issued by Blackstone since it went public in 2007 according to regulatory filings, will be guaranteed by the parent company and other units. Blackstone intends to use the proceeds from the offering for general corporate purposes. In morning trading, Blackstone Group shares slipped 7 cents to $14.51. The stock has more than doubled in the year to date.
