A hearing to determine whether the securities-fraud charges against two former Nebraska City brokers are warranted has been delayed until Oct. 19. Sarpy County District Judge David Arterburn ordered the delay Monday because a transcript wasn't available in one of the cases. Rebecca Engle and Brian Schuster are accused of defrauding more than 130 investors out of more than $20 million. They were expected to argue today that prosecutors haven't shown they have enough evidence to justify trying them on allegations that they improperly sold risky investments in several interrelated Florida companies. Both Engle and Schuster face eight counts of securities fraud and several lawsuits.
