A former financial advisor and senior vice president in the wealth management team at UBS has taken the leap into independence by launching her own firm.

Minneapolis based Kristin Larson, CFP, CPWA, has launched NewSpring Wealth Partners under the Sanctuary Wealth network, managing around $200 million in client assets.

"Once I got a glimpse of what is possible in the independent space, I couldn't unsee how much better I would be able to serve and communicate with clients than continuing to work as an employee," said Larson. "With Sanctuary, I've found a true partner who will support my practice, helping me empower mid-career professionals, especially women, who, like me, are starting on new journeys.”

Larson was with UBS for nine years, mostly with the Carlson Larson Wealth Management group, and before that was a registered client associate with Wells Fargo Advisors, a paraplanner at Ameriprise Financial Services, where she had started her financial services career as office manager.

"Her accomplishments so early in her career are admirable – already being recognized as one of the top next-gen and top woman advisors in the industry,” said Vince Fertitta, President of Sanctuary Wealth. “By choosing independence, she has unlocked a valuable asset with a fantastic growth trajectory and can now serve as a true fiduciary for her clients, offering them expanded support, enhanced technology and objective investment solutions."

Sanctuary Wealth’s network comprises around 120 partner firms in 30 states, managing approximately $50 billion in combined client assets.

In welcoming the firm’s latest net-gen woman advisor, Adam Malamed, CEO of Sanctuary Wealth, said that the changing wealth landscape meant women advisors will see increasing demand from clients.

"As the great wealth transfer continues, women will gain even greater control over the nation's finances and many will look to accomplished women like Kristin to manage their assets and achieve their financial goals,” he said. “I'm proud that Sanctuary has the platform and culture that continues to attract such high-quality, women-led partner firms, and we stand committed to ensuring Kristin has all she needs to succeed in the independent space."

Sanctuary recently upgraded the tech stack on offer to its advisor network with a new integration on its Sanctuary One TAMP with BNY Pershing’s Wove platform, which offers a suite of products that work together and is future proofed through a foundational framework to enable new products to be added without disruption to services.
