Raymond James is offering a new way for financial advisers with exclusively fee-based practices to affiliate with it, the firm announced Thursday. The Corporate Registered Investment Advisor model lets fee-based independent adviser representatives access Raymond James’ support and resources.

“With an increasing number of advisors operating fee-only practices, the Corporate RIA offers an exceptional experience designed specifically for IARs seeking complete back-office and regulatory support,” Scott Curtis, president of Raymond James’ Private Client Group, said in a statement.

Raymond James says the model will let advisers operate as independent contractors without setting up an RIA.

They’ll have access to wealth management resources, including turnkey asset management options; a technology platform; marketing support; and succession planning consultative services.
