The bill passed by the Senate last month that extends expiring tax breaks includes a provision affecting individual retirement accounts. HR 4213 would allow tax-free rollovers from IRAs to charities to continue through the end of this year. The bill already had received approval in the House; the two chambers must now reconcile the differences between the two passed versions. For a look at the bill, visit thomas.loc.gov.
