A new technology center focused on financial planning was dedicated at the Texas Tech University College of Human Sciences. The Charles Schwab Personal Financial Planning Technology Complex equips students with more professional software than any other college-level financial planning program in the United States, the Lubbock-based university noted in a statement. The center, which includes classrooms and a laboratory, was funded in part with a $1 million pledge from the Charles Schwab Foundationin San Mateo, Calif., which was announced in October 2007. The funding will also be used to support a research scholar. There are more than 300 students enrolled in the Division of Personal Financial Planning.
