Biggest win is trio who managed $676 million at Merrill Lynch

UBS has recruited nine advisers managing a total of $1.6 billion. [More:See more adviser moves in InvestmentNews' Advisers on the Move database.] Accounting for most of the new assets that may be coming to the firm is a three-adviser team — Dan Emerson, Scott Emerson, Angelo Esposito — who managed $676 million at Merrill Lynch in Atlanta. [Recommended video:Who are the 2019 InvestmentNews Women to Watch?] At its Newport Beach, Calif., branch, the firm attracted Andrew Low, who managed $125 million at BNY Mellon, and Nicholas Villasenor, who managed $175 million at Morgan Stanley. It also hired Ranjeet Guptara, who managed $200 million at Wells Fargo Private Bank in Los Angeles, Calif.; Justine Barroso, who managed $180 million at JP Morgan Chase in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Clarence Hughes, who managed $150 million at Wells Fargo Private bank in Albuquerque, N.M.; and Andrew Knutson, who managed $95 million at Wells Fargo Advisors in the Minneapolis area.
