Beacon Pointe Advisors has named Greg Mykytyn to a leadership role in its retirement plan services division, expanding its presence in the Dallas-Fort Worth market.

Mykytyn brings nearly 30 years of experience advising 401(k), ESOP and profit-sharing plans. He joins the RIA after serving as managing director at Commerce Street Investment Management in Dallas.

Earlier in his career, he held roles at Fidelity Investments, Milliman and American National Bank of Texas, as well as with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

At American National Bank of Texas, Mykytyn led the development of its 3(16) fiduciary platform, growing it to $60 million in assets over a three-year period. His work at the FDIC focused on regulatory reporting and compliance functions, including Form 5500 filings and nondiscrimination testing for failed institutions.

His new position at Beacon Pointe formalizes a long-standing collaboration with the firm.

"I've worked with Beacon Pointe, Wayne [McCullough], and his colleagues for a number of years, and I'm thrilled about this opportunity to formally join the Beacon Pointe advisory team," Mykytyn said in a statement unveiling the move.

Wayne McCullough, a partner and managing director based in Dallas, noted Mykytyn’s longstanding relationship with the firm and his depth of experience in business retirement services.

"His knowledge of the 401(k), ESOP and profit-sharing plan world is unmatched. We have partnered with Greg on the majority of our retirement plans over the past 11 years, and he always brings insight, intelligence, and enthusiasm," McCullough said.

In his new role, Mykytyn is expected to contribute to the growth of Beacon Pointe’s retirement consulting segment in the region, while advising plan sponsors on fiduciary oversight, plan design and participant education.

"This is a natural extension of the comprehensive wealth management services we provide to business owners and executives," said Matt Cooper, president of Beacon Pointe.

Mykytyn's appointment builds on a previous move by Beacon Pointe in December, in which it brought aboard Greggory Cowan, an experienced leader from Capital Group, to serve as a retirement plan business consultant. Shortly before that, it welcomed ex-Osaic CFO Jon Frojen, tapping the executive for the same role in its own C-suite.

Operating since 2002, Beacon Pointe’s Retirement Plan Services Group offers fiduciary and investment consulting for 401(k) and 403(b) plans, endowments, and other institutional clients.

It has a strong claim to leadership as the nation’s largest women-led RIA, with more than 60 offices across the US and over $43 billion in assets under advisement.
