American Century plucks Lehman money managers

John Lovito and Federico Garcia Zamora recently joined the firm as co-portfolio managers for the $1.7 billion American Century International Bond Fund, the Kansas City, Mo.-based American Century said today.

American Century Investments has hired two former money managers from Lehman Brothers Asset Management, a unit of Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. of New York. John Lovito and Federico Garcia Zamora recently joined the firm as co-portfolio managers for the $1.7 billion American Century International Bond Fund, the Kansas City, Mo.-based American Century said today in a statement. Effective Feb. 2, the managers, based in firm’s New York office, will manage the portfolio that was subadvised by JPMorgan Asset Management Inc. of New York. Mr. Lovito will also serve as a member of American Century’s fixed-income macro strategy team. Prior to joining American Century, he spent seven years with Lehman Brothers Asset Management, most recently as managing director and head of global fixed income strategies. Mr. Zamora most recently served as portfolio manager and foreign exchange strategist for global fixed income with Lehman Brothers Asset Management after joining the firm as a research analyst.
