Bank team managing $365 million forms hybrid

A team of advisers that managed $365 million in assets at South State Bank in August, Ga., have formed their own hybrid firm, Firethorn Wealth Partners. The firm is a registered investment adviser, and has affiliated with Chalice Capital Partners as its broker-dealer. It also will use the tru Independence wealth management platform. Firethorn's founders — Scott Benjamin, Jerry Rogers and Kevin Sweeney — have worked in the securities industry since the 1990s.
