Bush signs AMT 'patch' into law

The tax package also includes a seven-year renewal of a terrorism-insurance program.

President Bush yesterday signed the tax-legislation package including a one-year “patch” to the alternative minimum tax and a seven-year renewal of a terrorism-insurance program, according to puablished reports. The president called the spending levels in the 11-bill omnibus “reasonable and responsible,” in a statement.
