Firms launch infrastructure indexes

Dow Jones and Brookfield Asset's indexes serve as benchmarks of companies that own infrastructure assets.

Dow Jones Indexes of New York and Brookfield Asset Management Inc. of Toronto have launched the Dow Jones Brookfield Infrastructure Indexes, which are designed to serve as benchmarks of companies that are owners and operators of infrastructure assets. The new index group includes a composite index and subindexes for four regions and eight sectors. The four regions include the Americas, Asia/Pacific, Europe and all countries except for the United States. The sectors include airports, toll roads, ports, communications, electricity transmission and distribution, oil and gas storage/transportation and water.
