PPB Capital Partners has appointed former Hightower Advisors chief executive officer Bob Oros as president, establishing a new senior leadership position designed to strengthen the firm’s operating capabilities and support expansion in alternative investments.
In the role, Oros will work closely with founder and chief executive Brendan Lake, taking oversight of business operations, infrastructure and strategic initiatives as advisors increasingly look to private markets to diversify client portfolios.
Oros, who joined PPB’s board as vice chairman last year, said gaining deeper insight into the firm’s business ultimately led him to take on a more active leadership post.
“PPB is one of the best-kept secrets in the industry,” Oros said. “It’s a great business playing in one of the most exciting parts of wealth management. After joining the board, and with a closer look at the firm, I realized there was an opportunity to contribute more deeply to strengthening the infrastructure and resources that help advisors deliver private markets solutions to their clients.”
Founded in 2005, the firm has focused on providing advisors with curated access to alternative investment opportunities through a relationship-driven service model rather than pursuing rapid scale.
Oros said the personalized nature of the private wealth business continues to be a differentiator for the firm as alternatives take on a larger role in portfolio construction.

PPB has built a model around service, responsiveness, and real partnerships with advisors, helping them confidently bring private markets opportunities to clients. With more than 30 years in the industry - including senior positions at HD Vest, Fidelity Institutional Wealth Services, and LPL Financial - Oros is expected to manage day-to-day operations, freeing Lake to focus more on client engagement and long-term brand strategy as PPB pursues further growth.
Lake said the addition reflects a turning point for the firm as it looks to expand its reach in private markets.

The leadership partnership is expected to combine entrepreneurial direction with operational scale as PPB continues building out its platform while maintaining its advisor-centric approach.
