Janney Montgomery Scott has added two experienced financial advisors and their teams in Ohio and Maryland; teams managing a combined $830 million in client assets.
In Hudson, Ohio, financial advisor Noel Becker has joined the firm as a senior vice president of Wealth Management. He is accompanied by Jean Phelps, a senior wealth planning associate. The pair most recently worked at UBS and collectively oversee nearly $750 million in client assets.
“Janney’s advisor-centric culture and boutique approach align with the way we serve clients—thoughtfully, with discipline and a long-term focus,” said Noel Becker. “We were looking for a firm that supports independence while providing the resources and partnership to best support our clients. We’re pleased to join Janney and look forward to growing and enhancing our practice.”
Becker works closely with families, individuals, and retirement plan sponsors across Northeast Ohio, guiding them through evolving market conditions. His practice emphasizes disciplined asset allocation, holistic portfolio oversight, and risk management strategies designed to support long-term financial goals.
He began his career at Merrill Lynch before moving to McDonald Investments, which was acquired by UBS in 2007.
Phelps brings more than 25 years of experience in the financial services sector. Her background spans client support, operational management, and regulatory compliance. She is recognized for her communication skills, attention to detail, and focus on maintaining strong compliance and operational standards.
Separately, Janney also expanded its presence in Maryland with the addition of financial advisor Scott Patterson in Hunt Valley.
Patterson joins Griffin Wealth Management, a four-person advisory group led by Financial Advisor and Branch Manager Kevin Doyle. He arrives from Raymond James and manages more than $80 million in client assets.
Griffin Wealth Management brings over 90 years of combined industry experience and focuses on providing long-term financial stewardship and tailored advice to clients. Patterson and Doyle previously worked together at Raymond James, and Doyle joined Janney last year.
Patterson has spent more than 26 years in the financial services industry helping individuals and families pursue long-term financial objectives. His approach centers on disciplined investment guidance paired with comprehensive financial planning tailored to each client’s circumstances.
He began his career at Legg Mason in Baltimore and later advised clients at A.G. Edwards, Wachovia Securities/Wells Fargo Advisors, and Raymond James.
