LPL Financial has picked up a team of advisors in Manlius, New York, led by financial advisors Mark Hills and Uri “Chip” Doolittle V, who have joined its broker-dealer, RIA, and custodial platforms.
Two other financial advisors, Jeffrey Reisner and Josh Quilty-Koval, along with administrative assistant Mindy Holgate, and Chip’s son, associate Robert Doolittle, are the other members of the Upstate Financial Network team.
Hills and Doolittle, who merged their practices in 2016 and were previously affiliated with Triad Advisors, part of the Osaic network, managed around $200 million in advisory, brokerage, and retirement plan assets.
“With so much consolidation and change in the wealth management industry, it’s more important than ever to find a partner that works tirelessly to support its advisors,” Doolittle said. “It was evident from our first meeting that LPL is that partner. From LPL’s streamlined technology to its back-end support, this partnership will provide us with the resources to work more efficiently and effectively, ultimately allowing us to focus more on the reason we got into this business in the first place – our clients.”
LPL Financial also recently recruited financial advisors Matthew Best and Michael Moore to its broker-dealer, RIA, and custodial platforms. The $130 million team was previously with Ameriprise.
Other recent additions include a $130 million team from Securities America, a $165 million team from Cetera, and a $150 million team from Ameriprise.
The firm has also hired former Wells Fargo executive Jim McHale as its new chief compliance officer.
A drop in interest rates and easier access to capital has reignited appetite among private equity-backed consolidators, who accounted for 53% of RIA deals so far this year—their highest share since 2021 according to Devoe & Company'.
