Merrill team managing $311 million goes hybrid

Sharon Barton and Jay Spector, who managed $311 million at Merrill Lynch in Scottsdale, Ariz., have created Barton Spector Wealth Strategies, a hybrid firm that has affiliated with LPL as its broker-dealer and Stratos Wealth Partners as its registered investment adviser. Ms. Barton spent her entire securities career at Merrill Lynch, joining the firm in 1986. Mr. Spector began his career in 2006 at RBC, moved to Wells Fargo Advisors in 2008 and joined Merrill Lynch in 2011.
