New orders for manufactured goods fell 3.9% in December, marking the fifth consecutive month of declines. It’s the longest downward streak since the Commerce Department began tracking the statistics in 1992. New orders for manufactured goods decreased $14.8 billion, to $362.4 billion, the Commerce Department said today. That followed a decrease of 6.5% in November.
