RFG Advisory has announced the launch of two independent advisory firms within its network, expanding its presence in Colorado and entering the Northeast for the first time.
TrekNorth Investment Management, led by Jarrod Biebel, has joined the platform in Colorado, while James Horn’s Matterhorn Private Wealth, with offices in Rochester and Buffalo, New York, marks RFG’s expansion into the region.
Jarrod Biebel, a 32-year veteran of the industry, was previously associated with Raymond James, Wells Fargo, and Prudential, according to his BrokerCheck record. James Horn's record shows he was previously with Ameriprise and had an earlier stint at Northwestern Mutual.
“We’ve been deeply invested in elevating our platform over the past 12 months,” Shannon Spotswood, chief executive officer at RFG Advisory, said in a statement Wednesday. “Our aim is to provide entrepreneurial advisors seeking the latest technology, comprehensive service and personalized support with a platform to help them build enterprise value. We’re excited to welcome Jarrod, Jim and their respective teams to RFG.”
Horn’s decision to join RFG reflects a move toward greater business autonomy and expanded client service capabilities. His firm will have access to RFG’s fully integrated technology platform, designed to enhance client engagement and operational efficiency.
Biebel’s partnership with RFG aligns with his long-term strategy for TrekNorth, which includes expanding the firm’s team and leveraging new technology to meet evolving client needs. Working alongside senior relationship manager Angelica Walter, Biebel plans to scale TrekNorth’s operations while maintaining a personalized approach to wealth management.
“We are delighted to welcome Jarrod, Jim and their teams to RFG,” said Abby Salameh, chief growth officer at RFG Advisory, who joined the firm from CAIS last year. “We are confident that our advisor-centric platform will support their growth ambitions. They’ve entrusted us with their future and we look forward to utilizing our collective resources to help their clients reach their unique goals.”
Last month, RFG launched a rebranding initiative alongside platform enhancements aimed at supporting independent advisors with expanded technology and service offerings. Among other developments, the enhanced platform included a relaunch of a women-focused wealth program under the leadership of Jillian Berry
