Pathstone, the $112 billion family office catering to ultra-high net worth families, foundations, and endowments, has appointed Eddie Brown as its chief growth officer.

Brown brings more than 25 years of experience in the family office and wealth management sectors to the Englewood, New Jersey-based RIA, where he will oversee business development, organic growth strategies, and marketing efforts across Pathstone and its subsidiaries Pathstone Family Office, Willow Street Trust Company, and Advisor Partners.

Pathstone's expansion journey in recent years has been fueled in no small part by transactions involving multibillion-dollar firms, including its splashy October mega-deal for Hall Capital Partners and its more modest agreement to acquire $3 billion Crestone Capital announced in February.

“Pathstone’s rise in the industry has been driven by a forward-looking vision and strategy with an unwavering commitment to exceed client expectations and provide a truly differentiated family office experience,” Matt Fleissig, Pathstone’s chief executive and co-founder, said in a statement Thursday. “We are thrilled to have Eddie join our executive management team and help lead our next chapter of growth.”

Brown’s most recent position was with Schwab Advisor Services, where he served as a managing director and head of Schwab Advisor Family Office. He was instrumental in building Schwab’s family office business into a recognized national brand.

Prior to Schwab, Brown held leadership roles at Fidelity Family Office Services, where he played a key role in supporting multi-family offices, single family offices, and ultra-wealthy families.

Pathstone has had a long-standing relationship with Brown, dating back to the firm’s inception in 2010. Brown helped establish Pathstone as one of Fidelity’s early multi-family office clients, later expanding the relationship during his tenure at Schwab.

“We are excited to have Eddie join us. He has a well-established reputation and extensive network of relationships in the family office community,” said Kelly Maregni, Pathstone’s president. “As a respected thought leader, his vision and insight will supercharge our culture of innovation, trust, and excellence in serving our clients.”

Reflecting on the appointment, Brown stated, “For more than a decade, I have witnessed Pathstone’s evolution and have been inspired by the firm’s vision, strategy, and execution. I am thrilled to bring my energy and extensive experience to this role.”

Pathstone's announcement today follows similar moves at other fast-growing RIA firms in recent months. Last month, Cresset announced Jessica Malkin as its new chief growth officer and executive managing director, while Cerity Partners hired Todd Cassler as its own growth chief in September.
