Fidelity renames RIA group

Fidelity Registered Investment Advisor Group today became Fidelity Institutional Wealth Services.

Fidelity Registered Investment Advisor Group today becomes Fidelity Institutional Wealth Services. The Boston-based financial company changed the name of the division to reflect that it increasingly handles the asset custody of third party administrators and trust companies in addition to RIAs, the firm said in a statement. The unit has more than $290 billion of assets in custody.
