Merrill loses $450 million breakaway team

Craig Robson, an Atlanta-based adviser managing $450 million in client assets has left Merrill Lynch to create the independent firm Regent Peak Wealth Advisors. Mr. Robson had been with Merrill Lynch since 1994. Joining Mr. Robson at his new firm is a four-person support team, which includes Kevin Manning, Nathan Hoyt, Carmen Laster and Emily Raymond. Regent Peak Wealth Advisors has affiliated with Dynasty Financial Partners, which provides wealth management services for independent advisers. It's using Charles Schwab for custody services and Black Diamond for consolidated asset and performance reporting. The firm plans to expand via "strategic acquisitions with like-minded advisers," according to a news release.
