Women have shattered many glass ceilings during the last year, spearheading a movement to break down internal barriers for gender equity in both business and lifestyle.

InvestmentNews has captured the trailblazing journeys of leading women through its Her Success Matters podcast, hosted and founded by CEO Christine Shaw. Through content that addresses both female leadership and male allyship, Her Success Matters is on a mission to inspire inclusive professional cultures that elevate women in their careers and passions.

Her Success Matters kicks off its second season with a fresh lineup of guests including top women executives, influencers, and historical figures. The new season launched Thursday with special guest Rosie Rios, 43rd Treasurer of the United States during the Obama Administration.

“Speaking on a show like Her Success Matters is important because it’s not just talking about the what, but about the why and how success for women matters,” Rios said. “More importantly, we are talking about future women: our girls, our future leadership. Whether we have a daughter, a niece or a granddaughter. If they do not reach their full potential, we all fail."

Research shows a record number of women left the workforce during the pandemic, but times are changing as some businesses put stricter inclusion requirements in place to elevate more women to enter leadership roles.

Notably, in August the Securities and Exchange Commission approved the new Nasdaq Board Diversity Rule, which requires all companies listed on the exchange to disclose board-level diversity statistics. If a company doesn’t have at least one woman and one member who identifies as non-white or LGBTQIA+ on their board, the company must issue a statement explaining why.

With new rulings like this, it’s clear that the companies prioritizing inclusion and equity at the board level will be the ones that increase profits while best serving and representing their executives, employees and customers. Companies with a competitive edge also strive for an overall culture of inclusion, where the voices of all -- especially traditionally silenced voices of women -- are heard and matter.

That’s the purpose of Her Success Matters: to inspire women to elevate their careers, build their wealth and live a healthy lifestyle while highlighting the programs companies have in place to create a more inclusive industry.

The relaunch is accompanied by a brand-new website, hersuccessmatters.com, which brings together the community of women in financial services. Through this podcast, women have a community of fellow female powerhouses who empower each other to succeed in their careers.

Tune in weekly and join the community to access the inspiration, knowledge, support and confidence all women need to thrive.
