Broadridge Financial Solutions has expanded its next-generation digital assets platform to U.S. wealth management firms, giving broker-dealers, registered investment advisers, and wealth managers a single operating environment to offer clients both cryptocurrencies and tokenized securities alongside conventional investments.

The New York-based fintech announced the move, building on a rollout already underway in Canada. The platform is backed initially by two ecosystem partners - Anchorage Digital, the only federally chartered digital asset bank in the United States, and Galaxy Digital, a global digital asset infrastructure firm.

For many advisors, the challenge with digital assets has been the operational complexity of layering a new asset class onto systems built for equities, fixed income, and mutual funds. Broadridge is positioning its platform as a solution to that problem.

"Digital assets are moving from the margins to the mainstream investment conversations for U.S. investors, advisors and wealth managers," said Tom Carey, Broadridge's Global Head of Product and Technology. "Our platform helps firms extend the trusted wealth experience they already provide to include digital assets, while managing the operational complexity behind the scenes."

What the platform supports

The platform integrates with a firm's existing books and records infrastructure - whether Broadridge's own systems or third-party equivalents - allowing downstream services such as regulatory reporting, tax documentation, trade confirmations, and client statements to function without interruption.

It supports both advisor-led and self-directed models and includes integrated wallet infrastructure and institutional-grade custody across omnibus and segregated structures.

The platform also connects to Broadridge's DLX tokenization infrastructure, which the company describes as the world's largest institutional platform for settling tokenized real assets. According to Broadridge, DLX processes more than $351 billion in tokenized repo transactions daily through its Distributed Ledger Repo solution.

"Crypto is no longer a side conversation in wealth management, it's the conversation," said Nathan McCauley, CEO and Co-Founder of Anchorage Digital. "As America's first federally chartered digital asset bank, we're proud to bring institutional-grade custody and settlement to Broadridge's platform."

Timing lines up with surging advisor adoption

The U.S. launch arrives at a moment when advisor crypto adoption has hit a multi-year high. Approximately 32% of financial advisors invested in crypto for client accounts in 2025, up from 22% in 2024, according to the Bitwise/VettaFi 2026 Benchmark Survey of Financial Advisor Attitudes Toward Crypto Assets.

Research from 21Shares and FUSE Research Network finds that while some advisors are actively using digital assets and expect to raise allocations, restrictive firm policies and a lack of education continue to limit broader uptake.

"What we're seeing from financial advisors isn't a lack of curiosity; it's a need for education, particularly around how digital assets fit within a fiduciary framework," said Mickey Janvier, Head of US at 21Shares.

Broadridge's integrated compliance and governance layer which includes disclosure support, retail and institutional proxy voting, and supervisory workflow tools, is designed to address exactly those concerns. By embedding governance controls directly into the platform, the company is attempting to lower the operational and compliance barriers that have kept many advisors on the sidelines.

Mike Novogratz, founder and CEO of Galaxy, framed the partnership in similar terms. "As a global leader in digital assets, Galaxy is pleased to combine its digital asset market infrastructure and capabilities with Broadridge's established wealth management platform," he said.

What it means for advisor practices

For advisors at broker-dealers or RIAs already running on Broadridge infrastructure, the most significant implication is operational. Rather than standing up a separate digital asset workflow with its own custody, reporting, and compliance stack, firms can extend their existing environment to include crypto and tokenized securities.

The platform supports tokenized real-world assets spanning equities, funds, and private or alternative investments, in addition to direct cryptocurrency holdings. That scope makes it relevant not only for advisors already fielding crypto questions, but also for those whose clients are starting to ask about tokenized funds or on-chain equivalents of assets they already hold.

Broadridge has been steadily expanding its technology footprint in wealth management. Readers following the firm's broader push into AI-driven advisor tools at InvestmentNews will recognize this digital assets expansion as part of a larger strategy to make Broadridge infrastructure central to the full advisor workflow. The company's ongoing investment in platform modernization has increasingly targeted data aggregation, client personalization, and now asset class expansion as the primary levers for growth.

As the digital assets adoption debate within the advice industry continues to center on firm-level policy and access to credible tools, platforms that resolve the operational problem are likely to gain the most ground.
