Commonwealth Financial Network said Monday it has hired its first chief privacy officer, Michelle Kelley, who will also have the titles of senior vice president and deputy general counsel.
In the newly created position, Kelley will lead Commonwealth’s legal department and provide counsel on cybersecurity and privacy laws, working with the firm's information security team.
Commonwealth hired Kelley from LPL Financial. She will report to Peggy Ho, senior vice president, general counsel and chief risk officer, who was also a former longtime executive and attorney at LPL.
Kelley earned her law degree from Boston College Law School and began her career at Ropes & Gray. She has spent the past 16 years at LPL, where she held various roles.
