Raymond James has recruited a father-son team from Wells Fargo that managed more than $460 million in client assets, leading a round of advisor moves that also saw LPL Financial pick up a $160 million Edward Jones practice in Alabama and William Blair open a Dallas wealth office staffed by a team from UBS.

Raymond James adds Wells Fargo team in Ohio

Ted Krawec and his son, Jordan Krawec, have joined Raymond James & Associates, the firm’s employee advisor channel. They will run their practice as Krawec Wealth Management of Raymond James in Westlake, Ohio, serving business owners, corporate executives and retirees.

Ted Krawec, a managing director, spent 21 years at his previous firm, where he was a managing director and senior institutional consultant. He has worked in the industry for nearly four decades. Jordan Krawec, a first vice president of investments, spent seven years at his prior firm and has a finance degree from Miami University.

Senior registered client associate Natalie Sutcliffe and financial advisor trainee Ethan Veselic moved with the team. Amy Smart, Mid-American regional director for Raymond James & Associates, confirmed the hire.

“Raymond James offers the back-office support, technology and planning resources to enhance that work while keeping highly personal, multigenerational relationships at the center,” Ted Krawec said.

The Krawic Wealth team snaps a nearly monthlong absence of recruitment announcements at RJA, which most recently in September revealed it had recruited a $1.25 billion team from D.M. Kelly & Company in Iowa.

LPL lands Edward Jones advisor in Alabama

Matt Griggs moved his practice, Griggs Investment Group, from Edward Jones to LPL Financial’s broker-dealer and registered investment advisor platforms.

Based in Eufaula, Alabama, he reported serving roughly $160 million in advisory, brokerage and retirement plan assets. Griggs had been registered as an investment advisor and broker at Edward Jones for about three years, according to his BrokerCheck record with FINRA.

His clients include families in the region’s agricultural community and government employees handling distributions from workplace retirement plans. Client service associate Cheryl Pitts is joining him at LPL.

Griggs said greater control over his practice and its pricing drove the switch. “This move is about having the freedom to build a better business for my clients,” he said.

Earlier this month, LPL announced a shift in leadership by tapping a firm veteran, Ken Hullings, as its head of recruiting.

During its third-quarter earnings call, LPL reported $24 billion in recruited assets for the three-month period ended September 30, down slightly from the $25 billion it had logged for the second quarter.

William Blair opens Dallas wealth office with UBS team

William Blair Private Wealth Management has planted a stake in Dallas, establishing its private wealth presence in the city with a four-person team from UBS Private Wealth Management. Managing directors and wealth advisors

Ryan Berube and Allen Abney lead the team, which advises high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families, corporate executives, entrepreneurs, family offices and foundations.

The two have been featured repeatedly on Forbes' best-in-state wealth team rankings since 2023. The team reported $2.1 billion in team assets under custody, with the typical relationship ranging from $5 million to $25 million in net worth.

Berube has more than 30 years in the business and has led wealth teams at UBS, Credit Suisse, U.S. Trust and J.P. Morgan. He is also an Olympic gold medalist who anchored the US 4x200-meter freestyle relay at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia.

Abney has nearly 20 years in financial services, previously at UBS and Credit Suisse. Before that, he was a White House spokesperson in the George W. Bush administration and a government and public affairs consultant.

“William Blair’s independent, employee-owned partnership and focus on enduring client relationships align closely with how we have built our practice,” Berube said.

Berube and Abney are joining a wave of advisors breaking away from UBS, which in the first half of 2026 lost a total of 270 advisors, according to one industry report by Diamond Consultants. Still, the report noted that UBS is apparently moving toward "operating a smaller, leaner US wealth management business," which means the outflows of advisor talent might not be quite as painful for the firm as headlines would suggest.

"[R]ecent financial results may suggest that strategy is working from the corporate perspective," the report said. "What benefits the firm economically in the near term may not always align perfectly with what individual advisors value from their platform."
